I agree with Democratic strategist James Carville, who says he knows exactly why his party lost so badly on Tuesday: "Stupid wokeness." His argument is that by focusing on “defunding the police [except the Thought Crimes Police] or on proper pronouns for transgender people, Democrats are talking too much about issues that matter less to a broad swath of Americans than, say, the economy.”
Today I was looking at Carville’s Twitter account and attempted to reply to his sentiments, that voters - and especially women voters - didn’t appreciate Democratic support for these and other dangerous ideas (like legalizing experimental medical treatments on minors - based on children’s “self-diagnosis,” to boot). I wrote something brilliant like “Yeah, ya think?” and attached this screenshot.
Here’s what Big Bro Big Bird thought about that:
Really? I already said, “yeah, ya think”? Actually, today it doesn’t matter what I say (write) on Twitter. After replying last night to some mindless propaganda of transactivists and “allies” in response to a New European article about J.K. Rowling, everything I say, I “already said,” according to the Twitter Speech Crimes Police force. So shut up!
This is probably a message you get when the Twitter Speech & Language Crimes Police are getting ready to have you prosecuted and punished for hate speech and related crimes, such as public discourse (to quote my dear friend Titania McGrath: “As a popular female presence on social media, I am often subject to a common form of harassment known as ‘debate’.”).
“Some of these people need to go to a 'woke' detox center or something," Carville said. “They're expressing a language that people just don't use, and there's backlash and a frustration at that."
Ya think?

Nothing good comes from being on twitter. Just get off and stay off. (Ditto facebook.) See my substack subscription list for some places you might feel more welcome.
