Is Jew-hatred Iceland’s official position?
On Iceland’s national news, the Foreign Minister urged boycott of a business because it is owned by Jews.
Iceland’s claim to fame used to be its beautiful nature of fire and ice, which has kept the country’s tourism industry flourishing for years.
But thanks to Iceland’s extreme leftist feminist politics, Iceland is now not only the world’s “Woke Central,” (see Frosti Logason’s interview with Professor Gad Saad) with insane “trans” policies having infiltrated every government institution, including the presidency and the church, but Jew-Hatred-Central.
Iceland’s Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, chair of the Liberal Reform Party and a former member of the country’s (once) conservative Independence Party, said in response to President Donald Trump’s executive orders protecting women and children against the extremes of gender ideology, that they were “a setback,” and that emphasis on “trans rights worldwide [are] among Iceland’s most important topics on the United Nations Human Rights Council” (UNHRC). While stating she’d “encourage the United States to respect and protect human rights…” she didn’t say a word about her UNHRC buddy nations who stone gays to death.
The Minister and her galpal cabinet ministers are huge fans of Hamas, so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when she told Iceland’s largest newspaper Morgunblaðið last month that allowing Israel to take part in the Eurovision song contest (a ghastly contest of the mostest musical Eurotrash) was “unnatural… Just like Russians haven’t been allowed to go forward in this area… I don’t think it is unreasonable…[to forbid Israel’s participation]”
But now the Minister may have taken her Jew hatred a step too far. Yesterday, Icelandic attorney and former Independence party MP Jón Magnússon asked in his Morgunblaðið blog “Is racist opposition to businesses the policy of the [Icelandic] government?”
Mr. Magnússon writes: “Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir has positioned herself at the forefront of Western foreign ministers who express hostility toward Israel and Jews. I am not aware of any other foreign minister of a democratic state in Europe who has declared the necessity of a racist BDS campaign against companies owned by Jews. (BDS was a demand by German Nazis to destroy Jewish-owned businesses.) [In 2019 the German Parliament condemned the “BDS Israel” movement as anti-semetic.]
In RÚV [Icelandic state media] television news, the Foreign Minister urged a boycott of a specific company. The company in question provides good service, but that does not matter to the Foreign Minister, because the company is owned by Jews.
The company’s primary and only sin, according to the Foreign Minister, is racial and antisemitic. With this, the Icelandic minister is aligning herself with the barbaric regime that initiated the BDS movement in Germany and the Kristallnacht in 1938, when German Nazis destroyed Jewish businesses in Germany simply because they were owned by Jews.
Do the Foreign Minister’s words truly represent the policy of the (Icelandic) government? Hopefully not, and if so, the Foreign Minister must step down—better people have been lost.
Does the Prime Minister and other cabinet members believe that the Foreign Minister is safeguarding Iceland’s interests with her rhetoric blather, hate propaganda, and declarations of war?”
I sincerely don’t know what they believe. However, having just returned from a month-long stay in Iceland, I’ve come to the conclusion that most of the country’s leftist politicians, just like their American Democrat colleagues, are deranged and incapable of making rational decisions. This includes the current administration.
I feel sad and ashamed to say this, but it is my belief that my native country has become a textbook example of what Swiss psychologist Carl Jung called mass psychosis, the most dangerous of “psychic epidemics, which are infinitely more devastating than the worst of natural catastrophes.”
I don’t know how or even if there is any hope for Iceland, because, as one of our great writers, Þórbergur Þórðarson wrote in his 1924 book, Letter to Lára: “… of all nations, Icelanders are the most susceptible to the theories of madmen.”
How did you come to be gender critical? When did you figure out that the media has been lying to you, misrepresenting the truth, omitting important perspectives from their coverage? Have you ever considered that the same media that propagandizes about gender might also propagandize about other issues? Do you ever wonder what else they report on over and over again in a way that conceals the truth rather than illuminates it? I’m not interested in arguing with a stranger on the internet so will not be engaging further, same as I don’t try to convince anyone that believes gender affirming care is real medicine that they have been misled by their institutions. But, let’s just say Queers for Palestine is not an accident ok?
Well screw that! I guess they need to be the 52nd or 53rd state now.
